INTERROGATORY XII.

The kinds of penal labour in use, for what classes of prisoners, for how many hours per day, with what reliefs, and how adapted to differences of strength. If you use the crank or wheel, describe the construction, and state how and by whom the amount of resistance is regulated. Put in your scale of labour. Is shot drill used?
